About Me....

I live in Idaho, and this page is about me and the state. Idaho is a special place. There is a lot to see and a lot to do. Nature has been real good to Idaho. Sometimes you just have to stop and take in all the beauty around you.

There are awesome mountain ranges, like the Sawtooths, the Boulders, the Selkirks and the Bitterroot Mountains. There are natural geological scars dating back thousands of years. There are mighty rivers like the Snake, the Clearwater and the Salmon River, the famed River of No Return. There are hundreds of placid alpine lakes. There are vast wilderness areas, towering forests, rolling hills and lush valleys. There are fascinating towns steeped in history, and a wonderful people unique to those towns.

Image Preview Hello, my name is Bob Granstrom and I am your Idaho guide and information source.

Because I have something of an obsession with the great outdoors, I travel around Idaho enjoying all of the various recreational offerings. While this page is about me, the rest of the website is about the wonders of Idaho.

I want to tell you about outdoor activity opportunities and, at the same time, share other information about Idaho with you. I am an avid fly fisherman and fly tier. I tied trout and steelhead flies commercially for years in my younger days. I also enjoy hiking and camping, rafting and kayaking and, although I am a rank amateur, I enjoy outdoor and wildlife photography.

I live not far from Sandpoint, Idaho, located in the northern arm of the state, called the Panhandle. My property is a 10-acre “spread” 10 miles from the closest store. I am surrounded by green forests, fields of wildflowers, snowy mountain views, and a cascading stream at one edge of the place.

Its just enough land to handle four riding horses (plus one boarded horse), five dogs, four cats, and daily visitations from deer, elk and many smaller critters. I also share the property with an occasional loose moose and, not as often (thank God), a nosey bear.

If this talk about the Sandpoint area has you wondering if this is a place you might like to live, click here and meet my friend, Ed Ostrom.

This website is my labor of love. A love for Idaho. It is designed as a vehicle to share what I know about the state. Well, that is enough about me. Please enjoy the rest of the website.

Thank you for taking the time to visit!
