Scenic Byways of Idaho
As you travel through or around Idaho, be sure not to miss at least one of the Scenic Byways. All of the Scenic Byways of Idaho are award-winners!
Idaho's Byways, an eclectic group of 27 driving adventures
sprinkled throughout the State, are "must-see" side trips for the visitor. Each Byway is scenic and historic, usually passing through the awe-inspiring, natural beauty Idaho is known for. Be sure to pencil one or more of these mini-trips into your overall vacation plans.
 Six of the 27 Scenic Byways of Idaho have received a special designation as a "National" scenic byway or an "All-American Road" from the National Scenic Byways Program (NSBP). The program was established to recognize, enhance and preserve chosen roadways all over the United States. The program funds 1,872 Byway Projects in all 50 states, and in Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia.

Idaho is bordered by the Canadian province of British Columbia to the north, by Montana and Wyoming to the East, by Utah and Nevada to the south, and by Oregon and Washington to the west. Some of the Idaho Scenic Byway beauty is shared by those neighbors, but most of the natural beauty and historical attractions belong to Idaho alone. Many of the Scenic Byways of Idaho are simply not to be missed, if you travel in the state.
